In the UK, BBC One has just finished a 6-episode run of "Wallace and Gromit's World of Invention". In episode 6, "From A to B", the UFO title music can be heard in a segment about a proposed laser-powered flying saucer transportation!

The July 18th broadcast of The Beyondophonic Action Hour (available for download) focuses on music from Gerry Anderson productions, and features a live 1999 recording of the UFO theme performed by the Wondermints, plus a stereo versions of the UFO opening/closing music!

It's been recently announced that Space:1999 Year One will be released this fall on Blu-ray disc in both the US (from A&E) and in the UK (from Network). Hopefully someday we'll get to hear the same news about UFO?

Fanderson's latest club magazine is out, and it features a 3-page interview with UFO movie director Matthew Gratzner and producers Avi Haas and Henri M. Kessler. There are no new casting details, but they do confirm that they have managed to secure all of their financing, and hope to be in pre-production in London at the end of March (now).

Den of Geek has a feature (from last July) on the top 75 spaceships in movie and TV, which includes from UFO the Moonbase Interceptor (#13), Alien craft (#35), and Space Junk trawler (#62). Also as part of this is an exclusive interview with Gerry Anderson about the various spacecraft in his productions!

For those who haven't looked lately, the website for the upcoming UFO movie has been updated since last week -- there is a new "UFO" graphic on the home page, the "About" page now has a short description of the film's premise (including a new style SHADO logo in the background), and the "Media" page has a higher resolution version of the poster -- plus an orchestral version of the UFO theme!

Here is a must-read interview with Matthew Gratzner, the director of the upcoming UFO film, in which he discusses many aspects of the film that fans have wondered about, along with the news that there are three UFO films planned, the budget for the first film is $130 million dollars, Ali Larter is being considered for the part of Colonel Lake, Cmdr. Straker and Lt. Ellis have yet to be cast, and SHADO HQ will be based in England, not Hollywood as previously reported!
